Background in Irish dance
From Tipperary to the Riverdance stage.
I’m Shane McAvinchey, from Tipperary. I started Irish dancing at six, trained under Anne Callanan and competed at the highest level. At 16 I joined Riverdance and spent four years performing on stages and television around the globe.
I went on to principal roles in The High Kings, Dancing Thru the Ages and Ragus, and I was the lead dancer in the online video “Steps”, which has over 9 million views.

I understand dance schools from the inside.
For almost 15 years I ran a dance school in Germany, and I was an Artistic Director of the American Company of Irish Dance. I know how a school runs: terms, feiseanna, free trials, parents’ questions and registration.
I also know that teachers have no time. That’s why I make the process as easy as possible, and why your website is built around what parents actually need to find.
Small business experience, as well as design.
I created Irish Dance Pro and its Practice Pad, used by dancers worldwide. I co-founded KYMA Ice Bath and I co-own Chyl Spa in Barcelona, where I live. Along the way I’ve helped other small business owners with their websites and online sales.
That experience shapes every site I build: it has to bring in new families and make life easier, not just look good.

Most dance teachers have no time for web design, and most web designers have never been to a feis. Dance Site Designs is one person who understands both, so you can get on with teaching.
How I work with you.
You deal with me from the first call to launch day. We start with a free 15-minute call. You send me your current website address and tell me what’s changed, by a short questionnaire or by voice notes if you’re too busy to type.
I design and build your site on Squarespace, you approve it, and we launch. After that, the Care Plan keeps it up to date if you’d like.
