Privacy & Cookies
This page explains what personal information Dance Site Designs collects, why, and what your rights are. It also explains how this website uses cookies.
Who I am
Dance Site Designs is run by Shane McAvinchey, a sole trader based in Barcelona, Spain. I am the data controller for the information described here. You can contact me at info@dancesitedesigns.com.
What information I collect
- Contact details you give me when you fill in a form, email me or book a call: your name, email address, school name and website address.
- Project information you send me: descriptions of your school, classes, timetables, prices, photos, logos, testimonials and voice notes.
- Billing information needed to invoice you, such as your name, school or business name and address. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by me.
- Basic website usage data, such as pages visited and the country you visit from, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see below).
How I use it, and why
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a call (legitimate interest, and steps taken at your request before a contract).
- To design, build and look after your website (performance of our contract).
- To invoice you and keep accounting records (legal obligation and contract).
- To understand how this website is used and to improve it (consent, where cookies are not strictly necessary).
- To keep in touch about your website, such as Care Plan updates (contract or legitimate interest).
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not use it for automated decision-making.
Who I share it with
I use trusted service providers to run my business. They process information on my behalf, and may include Squarespace (website hosting, forms and analytics), my email and file-storage providers, WhatsApp (if you send voice notes there), scheduling and payment providers, and my accountant. I share information only as needed to provide these services, or if the law requires it.
International transfers
Some providers are based outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where this happens, I rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiry information for up to 24 months after our last contact. Project materials, including voice notes, are kept while I work with you and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of questions or updates, and then deleted. Invoices and accounting records are kept for as long as the law requires.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. This website uses:
- Strictly necessary cookies, which keep the site working and secure.
- Analytics cookies, which tell me, in aggregate, which pages are visited. These are used only if you accept them in the cookie banner.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie banner, or by clearing cookies in your browser settings. Embedded content, such as links to other websites, may set its own cookies, which I do not control.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal information, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy in a portable format and withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@dancesitedesigns.com. I will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I handle your information, you have the right to complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es), or to the authority in your own country.
